Physio-Led Pilates

Single Drop In Classes for any previous students of Aisling

Thursday 16th May

5.15pm-6.15pm OR 6.30pm-7.30pm

This pilates class will be led by our experienced physiotherapist and pilates instructor Aisling and will have a strong emphasis on the foundations of Pilates.

It is suitable for beginners, and also those who have done Pilates before but want to work on specific areas of weakness, who are recovering from injury or maintaining an injury-free status.

This class will focus on ensuring that each participant perfects the techniques of Pilates in order to be able to safely continue the exercises at home and progress from each class to the next. The aim is for each person to increase their flexibility and core stability while simultaneously enhancing overall body awareness. You will learn the importance of alignment and proper form while tuning into our breath.

Our physiotherapy-led Pilates class includes a pre-screening session with Aisling, who is a physiotherapist with 14 years experience.

The screening involves assessing each participant for any particular areas that need to be focused on in terms of stability, mobility and control. The exercises can then be tailored more for your needs and appropriate advice given for specific exercises to do at home.

About Aisling Dolan

Aisling is a native of the West of Ireland and is passionate about empowering people to care for themselves through movement and increased awareness of their physical body. This passion led her along the path of graduating as a physiotherapist in 2009 and she has been working as a physiotherapist caring for people of all ages across the world ever since.

Aisling has specialised in the physiotherapy areas of musculoskeletal, sports injury and paediatrics. She increased her special areas of interest by completing a taught masters in UCD in Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2014 which specialised her skills in assessing, diagnosing and treating injuries and conditions using manual therapy and exercise as tools for rehabilitation.

Having used the principles of Pilates throughout her physiotherapy career to help people rehabilitate from injury, Aisling began teaching Pilates classes in 2017 when she completed her Pilates matwork instructor training with PTTI. Aisling has taught Pilates at all levels and has specific experience with teenagers, injury rehabilitation and sport specific stability and mobility (atheletics, cycling, swimming, cycling, golfing).  Aisling likes to take a holistic approach to injury prevention and rehabilitation. She uses Pilates as a form of exercise to empower the person to tune in to their own body and guide them to help heal themselves through safe, measured exercise and movement.

Aisling ensures specificity for her class participants by providing a mandatory screening before taking part in her pilates classes, to ensure that she is fully aware of any particular areas that you may need to work on and if exercises need to be adapted for you to get the most out your class.

Aisling has also practiced yoga for over 10 years, hence how she discovered Kindred!
