She is an Experienced Anusara Yoga Teacher, trainer, coach and therapist. (Certified Yoga Therapist with IAYT)
Noeleen has been working with people in the field of yoga and natural health for over 30 years. Sharing the teachings and practices to empower spiritual growth and the realisation of human potential is her passion.
Since 1992 she has trained extensively in the US, UK, Europe and Ireland. She is a Certified Massage Therapist (State of California) and Registered Cranio Sacral Therapist (RCST London). Noeleen ran a clinic for 20 years as a cranio sacral therapist, massage therapist and reflexologist. Her many years of study and clinical practice along with an natural empathy inform her yoga teaching, therapy and coaching sessions.
Her teaching is very intuitive and each student is invited to bring their practice to a place where they can witness the life changing transformation and health benefits that the practice offers. She has been training wonderful yoga teachers for many years. As a coach the same reflective and instinctive understanding helps others to find their own path and access their own wisdom. She integrates both the yoga teachings and coaching as appropriate.
While Noeleen first experienced yoga as a teenager in her home town of Rush in Co. Dublin, it was later in her twenties in San Francisco that she fell deeply in love with the life-affirming practice. Life in San Francisco was pretty wild and yoga had a grounding effect that brought with it focus and clarity. Later she was to use yoga to heal back problems and to help her through two home births and the stresses of running a busy clinic, studio and eco tourism business.
For 10 years, Iyengar Yoga was the main inspiration and practice. Then followed many teacher trainings with many wonderful teachers in various styles of yoga. By chance in 2010 she discovered the biggest yoga gift of all, Anusara Yoga, which was to transform her practice, her teaching and her life. Since then she has undertaken extensive training with the Anusara School of Hatha Yoga and was the first certified Anusara Yoga Teacher in Ireland. She is hugely grateful to all her teachers past and present, and is an eternal student.
Anusara yoga is a powerful method of hatha yoga which integrates biomechanical principles of alignment with the celebration of the heart and spirit. Anusara yoga offers a dynamic synthesis of asana technique, yoga philosophy and the celebration of life, the Universe and everything! Noeleen has a deep interest in philosophy and in particular the study of Tantric Yoga.
In 2001 she founded the highly acclaimed and award winning Ard Nahoo Eco Retreat in County Leitrim. Voted as ‘one of the top ten retreats worldwide’ by the Guardian and featured in the National Geographic Staylist, Ard Nahoo it was at the forefront of Yoga, Natural Health and Eco Tourism in Ireland. In 2022 she took the brave step of moving on and leaving the eco retreat behind. Noeleen and Ard Nahoo Yoga School are now very happily on the road with retreats, workshops and trainings in Ireland and abroad.
